Raccoon Hair?
I went to the wonderful land of Sephora last night with friends Jennifer and Josephine. I went only intending to spend $20 but some how managed to "need" $40 worth of products. How many products for eyebrows can be in one store? Anyhoo, we were glancing over the beautiful array of brushes. One such brush was made of raccoon hair. Say huh? Yes, hair from a raccoon. I found this to be a bit of a step down from mink or even goat hair. I also thought I would research how they got the raccoon to cooperate with being shaved or plucked or whatever they do. Is it now "PC" or something to use a raccoon? Does PETA approve? Will the next step be squirrels? What do you think about this?

Maybe they shear them ... like sheep ... but they better put muzzles on them ... those nasty little guys have a fowl temper and tendency to bite.
They do have camel hair brushes, but I don't think they kill the camel to make them.
However, since squirrel & possum are one the menu "Down South" ... maybe little brushes would be a useful sideline ... :0)
I think that there are more animal products in our daily routine than I'd like to know about...I have heard that there is bat poop in mascara...happy thoughts, indeed.
Very odd. We have dead squirrels here regularly that would be happy to give their fur. Of course, I'm sure that this would not be PETA sanctioned.
Odd sounding, indeed. But have you ever seen a raccoon with bad eyebrows? They certainly have the liner thing down!
Food for thought- we ask our friends "do I have racoon eyes" humm.. this is hilarous...and for the racoons? They do not have the market cornered...Squirrels have made their way to the scene with the mineral make-up brushes called "Kabuki" brushes. Made popular by Bare Minerals. I don't know how to insert pictures or I would...:) Sorry squirrels.
I'm thinking they probably get the raccoon hair from roadkill. That way it is PETA approved. Did they have any skunk brushes?
