My First Born Turns Five.

I can vividly remember the LONG labor I went through but the last 5 years have passed so quickly.  My darling daughter had her birthday and I just kept thinking, "I can't believe she's already five."
We had a breakfast dinner per her request... well kind of.  I said, "Maya, today is your special day so you can have whatever you want to eat tonight.  What would you like?"  "Cake," she said.  "Yes, you will have cake, but what kind of DINNER food would you like to eat tonight?"  She said, "Bacon."  I said, "Well, we can have a breakfast dinner with pancakes, eggs, and bacon."  She said, "No, I just want bacon."  I said, "I will make a few other things for everyone else to eat, ok?"  "Okay Mommy," she said as if I was being crazy for suggesting we have other food.

We had a great dinner... no pancakes.  I thought that would be too much since we were having cake.  Maya got a smock and paints for her easel, money from the grandmothers, and jewelery making kit.  We received a coupon from Mr. Fub's for $3 off and also for a free birthday balloon.  We headed over there where she got a purple balloon and used her birthday money and coupon (easy come, easy go) on a chihuahua which she promptly named "Bingo."  She even has $5 left over!  I love my Maya-chan.  She is still my baby, and I still call her "Baby" ;) ...and probably will, even when she's all grown up.
